you have permission to grieve.

for anyone navigating grief:

you have permission to grieve.

even if it feels like you’ve been grieving too long. even if it feels like you should have moved on by now.

allowing yourself to grieve doesn’t mean you’re being self-centered or sulking in your sorrow. allowing yourself to grieve doesn’t mean you’re not trusting God.

remember: Jesus wept.

Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus, even though He knew He was about to raise him from the dead.

Jesus wept because He felt the pain of this sin-cursed world. He witnessed the sharp stinging sadness of death; the curse of sin on this broken world.

so, if you’re feeling the pain too, be comforted in the fact that it’s ok to cry. it’s ok to let yourself feel loss.

you have permission to grieve.
